Bengaluru Rameshwaram Cafe Blast Update DGP Reaction Over IED Use Know What Deputy CM DK Shivakumar Says


Bengaluru Rameshwaram Cafe Blast: Karnataka Director General of Police (DGP) Alok Mohan described the blast that took place at Rameshwaram Cafe, a popular restaurant in Bengaluru, on Friday (March 1) as a ‘bomb blast’ and said that investigation is underway and those involved will be found.

The DGP visited the spot and said, “There was a bomb blast (in the cafe) at 1 pm, in which nine people were injured, no one’s condition is serious.” We are investigating. FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) team has reached and they are investigating. City Police Commissioner and other officials are at the spot. We will definitely find out who did this.

‘Cafe workers and customers among the injured’

The DGP told reporters that no one was seriously injured and the injured have been admitted to the hospital. He said that the injured included both cafe staff and customers.

When asked whether an IED was used in the blast, he said, “We are investigating.” We will investigate after the FSL team collects the samples.

DGP spoke to CM Siddaramaiah and Karnataka Home Minister

The Director General of Police said that he had met Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Home Minister G. Talked to God and shared information about the incident with Him. When asked about some batteries being recovered at the spot, he said that clarity will come after the FSL team investigates. Mohan also said that information about the incident has been given to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Intelligence Bureau (IB).

What did Deputy CM DK Shivkumar say?

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said, “It was a low-intensity blast, there was a timer for the blast after one hour.” According to the police, the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 was invoked in the cafe blast case. And a case has been registered under the Explosive Substances Act.

Earlier, it was suspected by the officials that there was a cylinder blast in Rameshwaram Cafe.
